UNC YD members, at our 2011 State of the Union Watch Party!
UNC Young Democrats is the College Democrats chapter at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Founded in 1939 as the “Young Democrat Club,” UNC YD is one of the oldest organizations of its kind in the nation.
Over the years, our organization has become a statewide leader by hosting conventions, providing campaign trainings, working to elect Democrats around North Carolina, and hosting numerous progressive speakers, including Presidents John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama, among many others.
Today, our organization provides students with numerous ways to become more engaged and active in the political process, including opportunities in community service, political lobbying, campaign internships, policy research, issue advocacy, and more.
